Day 3 : Make Snowflakes

Can't have christmas without snow, right?

Whether or not we will get to see some flurries tomorrow night we made our own today. We used coffee filters, since I always have those on hand..

I left Isaac's scissors at a friends house and he isn't great with my big scissors, so I had to cut the snowflakes out. He watched and helped with flatening the filters and folding them.

Isaac painted the backdrop with two shades of blue.

We used a piece of a foam mattress topper as a sponge (these work SO great for kids).

I cut the snowflakes and Isaac glued them onto the backdrop. we used the same sponge for the glue

.

After the snowflakes were arranged just right we let them dry and then added Merry Christmas with red Glitter. I used a stencil set and let Isaac use a sponge brush to put glue in the stencils, then he covered with glitter
.
I have it hanging in the Living room, it really came out pretty!!
